Has anyone out there seen or heard of this happening?
It rides fine other than this

I have checked the rearend oil and no metal or anything strange
There are no strange noises anywhere

What else to try?

Any help would be appreciated!!

 

Check to see if the drive shaft it attached or even there for that matter.

 

Check where the hub is attached to the drive shaft it might be stripped

 

You didn't mention the mileage but my '98 with about 12000 on the odo had to have the ring and pinion and the axel replaced as the splines on the ring gear and the axel wore out. This machine gets lots of use as you can tell, lots of weight and water use, so it didn't upset me that much, of course it was nice to have the extended warrentee in effect. $500+ was the bill and it took care of all of it.
