Do you really think your gonna get any performance out of a 250ex? This quad is one of honda's major screw ups. You can't classify it as a high performance quad, because it lacks the "high performance". You can't classify it as a utility quad because of the weak *** engine and It doesn't have 4wheel drive. So could someone please tell me what qualities this quad brings to the table.

1. automatic clutch that rules for tight trails, hillclimbs and learning to ride.
2. Shaft driven - No chain to worry about, adjust, or keep clean.
3. Great for wheelies
4. Great on gas
5. Reverse
6. Reliable
7. $3800 OTD
Now, I'm not saying it would beat your 400ex on the track but you would be hard pressed to keep up on tight trails.

You guys are crazy! The 400ex is one of the best trail quads ever built. The handling on a 400ex kills the tight trails. If you get on some trails where you can get your speed up and you try to make tight turn the 250ex with its shorter wheelbase and balloon tires, your just asking to flip the bike. Go out on trails and tell me what quad you see the most? I can tell you what I see the most and thats 400ex's. If you get on some really technical trails your 250ex will not make it. 2 reasons:
1. If you get into some mud, the weak *** engine will not get through it.
2. Theres not enough weight to it. When you do get into the mud your just going to be floating on it instead of getting some traction.

Why put down a machine you obviously know nothing about? There is nothing weak about the motor on the 250EX. It gets great power out of its 229 cc's. It does great in the mud, the light weight helps it stay on top instead of getting buried. In technical stuff the auto-clutch lets it do things your manual can't do without a lot more work. It is a fun, manueverable machine that does a lot of things well. I'm sure your 400 is a fast (and probably annoyingly loud) machine. However, unless your riding skills exceed your mental prowess, you probably aren't using its potential anyways. If you can't add something positive to a discussion why not improve the forum by keeping your mouth shut and not putting down someone else's machine?
