I always thought my Raptor had a Sixth gear. It was going so fast on the high speed test runs I just thought it was in sixth gear. Sixth gear is my overdrive I have just never needed it agaist them Hondas. Chet

I have a 2000 400ex i have added yellow plastics, port, polish, 440 11.1comp., ballanced blueprinted,fmf pipe, triplerate works shocks, with a jet kit, full skid plates, 22-10-9 in rear, 23-7-10 up front, i weigh 255lbs. so i am a big old boy and i canstill beet any stock raptor.o yea i have a all around white brothers cam and run 110 octine.[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]
i would apperate any info you could give me on what else i can do to it.

Hossman, sorry to make a typo, i met to say the raptors higher gearing, not actually extra gear.

This question wasn't what quad should i buy to go fast, it was what big bore kit should i buy to build up my 400EX!!! Sometimes I swear people dont read the posts.

 

I've considered putting a 500 stroker in my EX. I spoke with Mickey at Four Stroke Tech today and he said that he would install the full 500 stroker kit that includes larger valves, full race cam, machining and labor for $2100. My main concern would be how will the rod and transmission hold up to this kind of hp. My 440 is putting out around 37 hp. that would be a 12 hp. gain from stock. Mickey claims that it would be possible to add another 12 hp. with the 500 stroker. 49 hp. sounds kinda low for a stroker motor.

If anyone has any insight on the 500 stroker kit please share your knowledge.
