I have the Mudrunners on my 01 Rancher4x4 and they do ride a little bit firmer I feel mainly due to being a 6 ply tire over the 2ply stockers. So any tire you pick that has more than 2 plys will ride a bit firmer than a 2 ply but, not enough to get to concerned about. I feel they give me a better feel for the terrain and turn much better. Just my pennies worth !

Any aggressive tread mud tire will be a little bumpy at slow speeds. I'm very pleased with my Mudrunners. They ride a LOT better than Vampires or Outlaws. One other thing you should know...the Mudrunners actually IMPROVED steering effort.

I had Mudrunners on my Rancher and they rode great. I have ITP 589's on my Rubicon and they ride rough as heck. I wish I'd have stayed with Mudrunners.

Hey UtahRancherRider,

I live in California and ride in desert type areas (hardpack and sandy) and no mud. I want to replace my OEM dirthooks. Will I be happy with the mudrunners?? Sould I upsize to 26" or stay with the original sizes. Do not want to get too high and be "tippy"

Thanks

Anythng other than stock will give a slightly rougher ride, but it will not be much. I have 27"mudbugs on a '02 rubicon and didn't notice a big difference. Remember though that after market tires are mostly 4 and 6 ply rating, so flats are history. Also this adds weight so make a good choice, maybe aluminum rims(half the weight of steel)

Marcopolo, the Mudrunners would be a better choice than 589's. I'd stick with the stock size if I had it to do over again.
