Need help with carb problem !!!!
#1
1985 Honda TRX 250 4Trax.......this quad has been sitting for 7 yrs in a garage, I just bought it, put a new battery in it, new fuel, and it started up on the 5th kick. But I noticed that fuel was coming out the back of the carb, ( the air intake) not driping but vapor, but if I put my hand over the back of the carb, it will get coated with fuel vapor. The engine seems a little noisy, (valve lash) I believe. Oil pump is working. I own street bikes, and never saw this before.
Also the manual indicates a "t" for the timing mark, and all I saw were 2 lines close together. Hmmmmmm????
Any suggestions or remedies??? Appreciate any help given......thanks !

As long as it has been setting up, the first thing you should do is "soak" the carb.
Then check all the vent lines from the carb to see if they are stopped up.
And make sure that the air ducting from the frame to airbox is clean from front to back.
After you do these things, it will make diagnosing the problem much easier. You never know because doing these things might just fix the problem.
