Hi everyone just wondering if anybody has had this happen to any manual shift Honda's when I downshift the gear selector sticks between gears and I have to either pull up on it a little bit or stamp on it alot for it to release. It changes fine 1 through 5 up only when I go down through the gears it does this which is a little scary when going done hill and you shift to a lower gear for engine brakeing and all the sudden your freewheeling between gears. Any fixes for this would be helpful Thanks.

I have a similar problem with one of my 250sx's. The gear shift lever sticks going up and down. The tech at my local dealer told me to run tranny fluid in the engine for 10 minutes and then replace with normal oil. The hope was that the detergents in the tranny fluid would relieve the sticking. I did it and did not notice much of a difference. To solve the problem I connected two springs to the shifter. One spring pulls up the other pulls down. After a little tweaking of the springs the bike shifts like normal. It's not the best fix but until I find a better option it has to work.

Thanks for the info I have had this bike for 10 years and never a prob all I have ever done is change the brakes and bearings on right rear end axle and a throttle cable. Did all the work myself cost maybe 200.00 bucks for everything not bad for 10 years worth of riding. I was just hoping I didn't blow the shifting fork or something major in the trany when she started to stick.

Yeah SX's are tough Trikes. I've had mine for 15 years and rode it real hard the first 5. Then I got my R and the SX turned into the Friend/Girlfriend bike. If you don't have an owners manual for it the link below may be of interest to you.
