3WD Clarification of the Myth
#31
My truck is a 3spd. manual and I might upgrade it to a 4spd. T-18 that I have also. No pics yet but I'm working on it. Your IH looks awesome! And the Bronco looks great mine is very similar to it and it also has that junk 351M in it. Does your brother have low oil pressure problems with it? Mine was almost zero at idle then I got a new oil pump and still not too good so I switched to 20w-50 oil and it boosted the pressure pretty good. The only Studebakers I have seen are the 2wd ones. What year was the one you saw?

My IH has the T-18 tranny. It's the non-synchro 1st gear that is 6.3-1 ratio. That's low! Especially in 4-LO. & it has 4:10's. It has the same leaf springs you find on a 1 ton dually IH.
The rear has a stack of 13 on each side plus I think 2 "helper" springs about 4 inches above them.
Yes my brothers Bronco carries very low oil pressure. I always heard 10 lbs per 1000 rpm is fine. I'm not sure his has that. I though maybe it was just the cheap brand aftermarket gauges. I don't know why Ford just didn't put 351W's in those Broncos.????
