Well,Im not rich by any means, but as I said i wont skimp with the engine. Also my friends wouldn't be able to keep up with me if I had a
400,which where's the fun in that? I like the handling better in a 250 than a 400. I've driven both.

You have got to be kidding me!!!! a 400 will out handle a 250 any day. The suspension is FAR superior, has a wider wheel base- and MUCH MUCH less tippy.
The 250 keeps up with the 400 just fine. Like I said- I own both... and when my friends and I go riding- they stay within 100 feet of me. Yes- I could leave them in the dust If I wanted- but for leasure trail riding... the 250 is a great machine.
To make your 250 hang with a 300 you would need to bore & stroke your engine. Unless you do it yourself- You could be looking at $1000 for a kit & installation...
The cost of a 250 is $3000.... the cost of a USED 400ex (only 2 years old) = 4000.
Basically - you could have purchased a FAST, BAD *** machine for the cost of hopping up a 250.

You,still don't get my point george, I didn't say my friends had 250EX's they have a rancher es ,bayou 220, and a 90cc POS all of those are really not a match for the 250EX ecspecially a 400. Also im not getting a used ATV. They really won't be a match for it when I bore it out ecspecially and pipe jet kit ect ect......

I got a race big gun complete exhuast system, K&N airfilter, and rejeted the carborator. I didn't really feel the increase in power intill I rejeted the carborator. The exhaust system helped but when you rejet the carb it makes the most difference. That combination will be enough power for you to ride with bayou 220's and ranchers. Don't waste your money on a K&N jetkit like I did. I only used the 110 main jet from the jetkit. The new rod for the carb made it run bad so I put the stock one back on. So buy a good exhaust system, K&N airfilter, and a main 110 jet if you remove the airbox lid like I did. If you don't remove the airbox lid then go with like a 96 main jet.
