Will there ever be another Honda 2 stroke??
#1
I just taken my first ride on my 400ex. While it is fun, I just don't think it compares to my old 250R. I'm not putting down the 400ex, it's still fun, I just expected more. I don't think that Honda will ever make another 2 stroke....They should atleast make a four stroke with some power.

There has been a lot of controversy about whether Honda will ever produce another two stroke quad. Many people had their hopes up (me included) when I read the article about their EXP technology which made two stroke emissions comparable to a four stroke. I for one seriously doubt that Honda will ever produce another two stroke quad again for several reasons.
(1. Take a look around! Four strokes are everywhere, Honda's not gonna miss out on this opportunity and take a chance that people might not buy a two stroke.
(2. Emissions is all you have to say and the environmentalists run scared, go hide under a rock and start yelling that we should ban engines that run on fossil fuels. Two strokes are very wasteful of fuel and for that have very high pollution ratings.
(3. Honda has always been a company of innovation and firsts. Look at the first All terrain Cycle, the ATC. They were very popular, and I just happen to own one . I think after that Honda became tired of being the first to venture on to such risky markets because of lawsuits being filed against them because of the ATC's. Granted that Yamaha still makes the Banshee and Blaster but look at their sales history, they haven't had as many law suits filed against them (if any) compared to Honda. Honda is just looking out for their best interest, making a profit and keeping it.
As for the 600EX thing, I am not sure about that or not. I have been to the Honda dealership in Gresham and was told that there is supposed to be one (or was it a 650EX?).
