Ruby tranny's are not cold weather friendly. Just returned from a disappointing hunting trip from northern Ontario. I was very disappointed when I fired up the Ruby one morning and it completly refused to move! I had to wait 10 to 15 minutes for the dam thing to warm up before it move! Meanwhile the rest of the guys were long gone. I spoke with the dealer regarding this and his reply was this is just the way they are and there is nothing that could be done about it. My new Rubicon has failed me terribly and I must trade it in for another brand. This ATV is no good for me.

I have used my Rubicon on many sub-zero days in Wisconsin last year - never experience the problem that you are refering to. Your dealer is BS'ing you. I say keep the bike and find a new dealer to get it figured out.

People here in Utah ride them all winter. This is the first I've heard of it.

I've run my Rube in single digit temperature weather several times, and have never had to wait for it to move. You have a problem with your quad, pure & simple. I know of no other Rubicons suffering from the problem you described. Sounds like you have 50 weight oil in your machine. Take it to a different dealer, one who actually has some idea of what he's talking about.

I know that you'll insist on usuing traditional oil, but the sythetic like mobil 1 really will cure ALL winter oil blues.

Mine also took off just fine at -10F with only a 1 min warm up as I was in a rush to fetch a lost sleader.
