CR250 Cylinder on TRX?
#21
I'm not trying to get anyone mad, or upset. This ESR Cylinder is NOT for a CR. It is for a TRX 250R. It looks as if it may be a 310 kit. The guy selling it didn't give enough information about the cylinder to tell exactly. Think abou this.....If a CR cylinder would bolt up to a TRX 250R bottom end, why are the PROS still using the TRX 250R cylinders????? As for the CR 500 cylinder on a TRX 250R bottom end, NOT happening. It just simply won't bolt up. I saw a pic posted above. It looks like a complete CR 500 motor. But if ya'll want to believe, I'll leave ya alone!!!!!

Why dont you give Mac racing a call and talk to them about the conversion, before calling them liars.
I myself am waiting to see the 500trx line up against the polonda in a drag race.
Also not starting any rumors but i know somebody working on a Honda CR500 topend on a Polaris bottom end. I just cant use Honda Parts on my bike though yet. (pick on 400ex friend to much i would never hear the end of it).

Last year all of the pro bikes I saw had one of the new powervalved cylinders from LRD, Duncan, etc. The pro's don't use the cr cylinder conversion because the power valves will not work on those conversions. Without a power valve, a stock trx cylinder is just as good. A little better would be a stock trx cylinder with an aluminum sleeve and a 3 or 4 port exhaust which will produce more power and add some reliability.
I've recently talked to LA Sleeve and it disappoints me that they will not sell those new powervalved cylinders to the public. You must pay full price from the popular performance shops.

Hey guys, c'mon. Surethingtowin is simply saying that a CR500 cylinder will not BOLT UP to a TRX250R frame. He is correct. You would have to modify the cases to accept the CR cylinders. All he is saying is that you can't just go to a Honda shop, buy a CR250 cylinder, and put it straight onto a TRX250 low end.

<< As for modifying the current CR ignition to fit a 250R quad...well thats just a task nobody has done yet. >>
eddie sanders racing says they have a CR ignition for trx250r, says gains better bottom end throttle responce, fantastic high RPM performance, and power gains all through the powerband. ready to bolt in, plug in, and go.
