i have ridden works shocks before (had to send them back two times and never did get them set up right). works was extremely nice and gave me a full refund but i was still out of 6 weeks of riding). i currently have pep zps. they are worth every pennie!!! you will get the same performance from there regular shocks (just not the ride height adjustment of the zps). my friend has just replaced his works steelers on his 250r (+2 a-arms) with custom axis. he did not like the works shocks (rode too high and too stiff). he has improved as a rider since he put the axis shocks on his bike. they ride smoother in the ruff stuff and soak up the big jumps better. the shocks are the single most important part on your quad if you are planing on racing motox. good luck, airtime

I need some new shocks for my 250R, but it'll be next summer by the time i have enough money saved. What's the difference between them all and what would be best for me? I'm gonna eventually put +2+1 a arms on it, and i'm not gonna race, maybe just for fun. I normally trail ride, open fields, do some jumps and hill....but want to get more into jumping and tricks. I was thinking either Custom axis, TCS, PEP, Works, Elka, or Ohlins...which one and style would be best?

my no-link is up and running great (except for my laeger a-arms, see my laeger a-arm ball joint thread). i am surprised at how well it soaks up the rough stuff and big air landings are smooth as well. i have bottomed it out on some 5th gear jumps, but a quick adjustment on the rear shocks solved this problem. the no-link set-up really puts the power to the ground. of course alot of this is directly relatated to the awsome pep zps shocks. i would recommend pep shocks to anyone. i would suggest that you decide which a-arms you will be using. once you order a shock and it is set up for a certain lenght a-arm, it will be a costly experience to have them revalved to your new a-arm lenght. ($650 for my pep's, front and rear). a standard lenght a-arm shock will be way to soft for an extended a-arm set-up. airtime

I bought a set of Denton 2+1 a-arms already,so I will be set.I can't wait to get it out.I stuffed it into a tree in August and bent the frame and wrecked some other parts as well. Now I have a different axle and other chassis goodies.I got married in the meantime and havent been able to order shocks until next week.By the time I get the shocks I'll probably be knee deep in snow.Wher did you get yours from? Thanks for the response.

no, the front pep zps shocks are i think $900 and the rear pep zps was $1200. it costs me $650 to send them back (fron and rear) to pep and have them revalve to work with my new no-link frame. like i said order your shocks to fit what you plan on riding. airtime. i would go with custom axis personnally. i believe they are just as good as pep and you can get them in about 4 to 6 weeks. pep is about 6 to 9 months.!!! airtime
