WWW.HEARTLANDHONDA.COM sells new 2000 400ex $5130.
according to their web site. I bought mine there for $5250. which they quoted me a while back through e-mail Greg the GM did not mess with me when I got there he stood by his word. It was a 4 1/2 hour drive for me one way. I saved $900 over what I would have to pay near my home. 900 is considering their tax is half what ours is.

Anyone who really knows anything would check their nuts and bolts on a quad or anything. I go over my quad everytime i wash it.

i live in illinois and in the winter it can get to around 0 sometimes at night and ill get up and go riding in the snow on the weekend at around 9 10 and after it has been 0 outside that night and it is about 10 when i ride and mine starts up without even using the choke and my garage is not heated..

Hoppedup400ex,
How much did you pay for your 400EX? My brother paid about $5500 for his. Apparently $5500 isn't even to insure that the tire won't fall off within 15 minutes. Do you really check your bolts everytime you ride? If you need too, than I'd say Hondas world class reliability is in big trouble. Maybe I take things for granted, but I don't think it's too much to ask for the quad not to fall apart it's first day home. Maybe I expect too much ???
note from atvbbs: please confine your posts to the initiator of the topic & to his question. Thanks.

Guys i would like to tell you your right about loose nuts and bolts. But its not Honda that is usually the cause it's your dealer you bought it from. All Machines come in crates with no tires and rims, and usually handlebars loose etc...
So you should always check for loose nuts and bolts when you purchase your new quad. Good places to check are around the fender mounts, exhaust bolts, and always wheels. These are what i would call the main areas. You may have the best dealer in the world but don't assume he has put your quad together correctly because you may get burned or even hurt.
