Milles per gallon of fun

48 miles to the tank is not very good. how many miles do you have on it. mine has about 600 miles on it and it goes about 100 miles before i need to switch to the reserve. And i ride it hard i am always on the gas hard and run my machine hard. I always set the trip meter on mine when i fill it up.

I have a '00 450-S. It gets 45-65 miles to a tank, varies greatly with the conditions. Lots of mud, or snow I get 45-50 to the tank. Dry, easy trails, just "puttin'" along I can get 60-65 to a tank. I believe the tank holds 3.25 gal, incl. reserve of .7 gal., I am not positive about these figures. It has been a while since I looked them up. Check your owner's manual.

I agree with trx450's reply. However, I don't necessarily keep up with the miles per gallon. I have a 2000 Foreman ES, and I ride primarily in mud or snow and usually ride 5 - 6 hours at a time and I have never ran out of gas yet. I fill up before I ride, and sometimes I'm at about 1/4 or less tank of gas when i'm finished, but after my first ride I realized that i didn't really have to worry about running out of gas. Now if you are gonna be riding for many miles for a entire day, that's probably a different story, but just riding trails and not going on a "journey" should be be no problem with one tank of gas.
