Buying a used 250R
#2
Things to look for in a used 250R...
Look over the frame VERY WELL! Make sure there are no cracks or broken welds... especiall by where the swing arm mounts to the frame, below the foot pegs, by the A-arms. Look at the lower motor mounts and make sure they are there an not broken. make sure there in NO play in the rear axel... they are known for bearing going out, and if they are not caught soon enough that carrier has to be replaced, and it is not cheap. Make sure the rear shock is not leaking and the rear suspension operates smoothly. Then just look for your general motor stuff...
Hope this helps.

I was told that I must pull all the plastic off to check out the sub frame , because of warpage . I am preety sure this r has not been raced but has been jumped alot. Also i am not that knowledgable about 2 strokes so i am taking a compression tester. With a stock 86 motor what should the compression be?This quad has ohlin piggybacks on the front and an ohlin rez on the rear. With nerfs and after market reeds ,but the motor is otherwise stock as far as i know. Thanks for the help!!!!
