carb for stock 250
#2
It will help on top end.I guess any how.I have only had a stock carb.I am going with a 310 motor so I will be using a 38 mm air stryker.U might want to see about having your stock carb taper bored.Instead of spending 200 bucks on a carb why not get a ehxaust and rejet. That would help alot more than just a carb.If U already have a aftermarket exhaust than yes that carb will probably help. And if your bike is ported(which I am assuming it is not)It would really help.
I am not sure about this.I hope some one else replies that knows a little bit more about this than me.But I think U could spend the money else where and have better results.

Ugly is right it will only help your top end. Now if you plan on doing some mods in the future and have a thrashed carb, got for it, the low end power loss is minimal. I have an 38 pwk on a stock cylinder with a stock(ish) bore, a low-mid range pipe and some port work and it runs strong everywhere.

If you dont plan to do any major mods on your engine, then stay away from the 38 and 39 size carbs, unless you want more top end, if thats the case, its great. If you are riding MX or woods or something, I would suggest keeping the stock carb, they arent bad carbs at all, I've got a used one in good shape I will sell you if your's is bad for way cheaper than a new 38mm. Anyway, if you just want to go bigger on the carb, go to like a 36mm, you wont lose as much bottom end that way.
I second the idea of getting an exhaust instead of a carb, of the same money you will gain WAY more power.
