in need of a brake light!!
#2
You will have to get a new switch [or used from a motorcycle]that connects to your brake pedal to operate correctly. Your local dealer can get you a universal one that pretty much adapts to anything.
You will also have to have a rear light capable of being used for a brake light. I'm not too familiar with the bulb design on the EX, but if you are lucky, you can just change bulb types in the bulb socket. If not you will have to get a new brakelight/housing and all.
If you can find a small trailer light that is not too bulky, you can install it with self tapping screws into the back of your airbox rather than making a custom bracket for your grab bar.

This isn't for a 300EX but rather for a 400EX, but you might check it out.
