300EX compared to TrailBlazer 250
#11
i am going to get a trailblazer soon and i wish everone would stop saying that it is a good beginner bike i would not let my kid ride it after i test rode one that thing flat out gets it. just because you don,t have to shift gears does not mean that the trailblazer is a biginner bike and it tops out at 52 or 53 mph and that is plenty fast enough for anyone. as for the size i like a bigger bike. and stop comparing 300s to 250s. the bigger motor is going to be faster common sense will tell you that. you don't compare a 454 chevy to a 350 chevy do you. if you want to compare stay in the same cc's range.

i test rode the trailblazer and i will be getting one soon. you can not compare a 250 to a 300 one motor is bigger than the other and that means the bigger motor will be faster common sense will tell you that the trailblazer tops out 52 or 53 mph. that is plenty fast enough if you go that fast in the woods you will probly become part of a tree. and as for people saying that it is a bigginer bike i don,t think any of us realy won't a biginner on a bike that goes that fast. and just because you don't have to shift any gears does not mean that the bike is for bigginers. how many of you have automatic transmissions in your cars or trucks. your not shifting gears there does that make your 35,000 car or truck a bigginer model i don't think so.

KWS,
I think it's fair in one way to compare them because the TB is a 2 stroke. The only reason I say it is a beginner bike is because as far as Polaris is concerned it is. But you are right, the full size frame is much better suited for an adult, rather than the somewhat small frame on the 300EX. You are also right in that an auto doesn't make it a beginner. Scramblers are also autos, but I can't see just putting some novice on a 500+lb machine that is about as fast as a 400EX! Don't take it personal, the TB is a great machine. We really like ours. It has been a great quad. Extremely fun in the woods. Good luck with your TB & I hope it is as good to you as ours has been to us.

KWS,Dude your getting way to defensive here..Nobodys downing the TB,it is a decent bike. But you say that comparing it to 300ex isn't fair because of the cc difference than what are we to compare it to?I know it won't hold a candle to a stock 250x.Thats the same displacement.I have ridden with my friend who has a 98 TB since he bought it new.I know what this stock quad is capable of and what it is not.Yea as you said runnning 50+ mph through the woods can get you hurt, but you can get hurt on a 90atc.I have a 00 300ex & I don't consider it a race Quad by anymeans.I would say it is an intermediate type bike with the 400ex & 250r being more of the race or (PRO)type quad, but in the same sense I don't think the TB is in the same class as the 300ex either. So I guess that brings us back to the begginer quad part.I hope this dosen't upset you as it wasn't intended to,just my thoughts and opinion...

Kws- the 300ex is a four stroke motor while the 250 TB is a two stroke motor. Two strokes tend to produce substantially more horsepower/cc than a four stroke. That is why in supercross racing 400cc four strokes can race in the 250cc two storke class. A prime example of this is the old honda 250R, it would blow the 300 ex away and is close in power with a 400 ex.
