did it just start all of a sudden? or have you just replaced something? as a first guess i would say that you have carb problems. but whould like to know what u have done as far as mods to engine first.

You said your mechanic says it's fine BUT did you rejet when you added the pipe and K&N filter? And also is the filter fully clamped on?

i may be wrong but it still sounds like a fuel problem. used to see it all time on cars, mr. shadetree would rebuild the carb and then all hell would break loose. pipes glowing runs like crap. just by looking at the carb does not do any good, he should have taken a gas reading off of the exh. i would take it to a different dealer.

my filter is fully clamped and i had it rejetted when i got my pipe on. and im pretty sure when i got the k&n put in. I drained all of my gas out and i put new gas in it. I also put a lil dry gas in it for water purpose's. Sumone told me that i might have a cracked ring. Is this possible?

Well if your plug is back then you're getting too much carbon. Carbon just means that your engine is getting oil. I'd get the compression checked first. That and check your oil too. If your oil is down then you know you have a bad rings. I've never heard of a cracked ring but I'm not saying it can't happen either.

Why waste you time wondering, just do a plug check. I would venture to say it's way lean and you are probably not fouling the plug but burning out the electrobe from the excess heat.

I did a compression test and it is pushing 175. I tested it 4 times and each showed 175.I talked too a dude at forest park and he said that it should be at 180 give or take 14. So thats fine. Man i dunno wut it is.

You need to run the bike wide open and shut it down with out the bike idling(run it full blast, hold in the clutch and turn it off). Then pull your plug and look at the color, it should be coco brown or tan. If your pipe is glowing red the odds are it's going to be white, which mean you are running too lean(too little gas in your mixture) and you need you increase the main jet size and continue to do plug checks until it is tan or coco brown.

If the plug is black you need to go to a small main jet.
