Hey guys.

I havent rode my 400EX in quite some time, but before I stopped, I had this brake problem. My rear brake pedal would stick and I'd have to push up with my foot for it to come back to original placing. The brakes in the back also stick. What can my problem be? I hope nothing serious. I plan on selling it very soon.

Here are a few things to check. Grease or oil the pivot piont of the pedal, undo the pin and see if the pedal is sticking on the pivot. Check to see if you emergany barke cable is locked up or adjusted to tight. Take the rear calibor off of the rotor and work it in and out a few times to see if it is stuck. Aand last maybe you need to change or bleed the fluid. This is just some ideas to try. Any of them could be the problem with out seeing the quad.

After each ride, muddy or not, I spend a few minutes with the garden hose on each caliper during my routine wash. The best thing to do would probably take each caliper off of the mount, and give it a good spraying down with break parts cleaner. Make sure you wear some safety glasses while doing this.

I revently put new pads on all of my calipers, and even though I wash them down after each ride, there was still a lot of dirt and mud in all of the nooks and crannies.
