2000 400ex and I'm an idiot (electrical)
#1
I lost my key like a dumba$$ and my neighbor and two other guys wanted to ride in the new fallen snow. We tried to touch the wires together after taking the lock cylinder apart. Of course, it wouldn't start. I just got a new key cylinder from Honda and plugged it in. Tried to start it and nothing. No neutral light or anything. What did I do ? Help?

Man, you wouldn't make much of an ATV thief! (smiley faces)
Kill switch?
Not trying to be smart; been there, done that!
If you don't have the kill switch disabling your ignition, tracing wires from the diagram in the service manual seems the next step.
Shorting switch wires might not work when hot-wiring, the switch may provide a ground to the ignition circuit and neutral switch relay instead of "juice." (I have no evidence this is the case, just a possibility.)
Good luck.
