hey guys i have a 1986 250R. im in the process of replacing my rear axle bearings and i ran into a problem. my axle seems to not want to fit in. it has about a half inch more to go and it wont budge. im pretty sure there the right bearings, the axle is brand new, and the carrier i think is in descent shape. anyone have any troubles like this before? iv tried puttin a block at the end of the axle and hittin the block with a sludge hammer and pound in that way but it still wont move. is it just that tight or am i doing something wrong? also the bearings seem to be in straight. please help!!!

Hey WiredCinqmars, are you a retard when you can't figure something out!!! Give the guy a break, if you don't have any suggestions to help the guy out just don't respond!!

Actually alot of people have had this problem when installing a new axle into their bearing carrier, they do fit tight but if you are positive you have the correct bearings and the axle is correct for your quad, it should fit. Did you trying putting some grease on the bearing and axle to make it slide a little easier? I just went through this on my R, I installed a new Lonestar axle into an aftermarket bearing carrier from brad hermann motor sports, it fit real tight but once I lubed everything up, I just had to tap a little and it slid on down.

yeah i think there the right bearings. they were the same thing as the ones i had in there before. but its gonna take a lil bit more than a tap to get this baby in. yeah its been lubed very well. im gonna go and try it again in about 10 minutes and we'll see how that goes.

If all else fails, try putting the bearings in a freezer for a couple hours, usually works.
