Works like crap. It will wear the chain out faster and it makes 1st gear pretty much useless. It will go slower too, I can't see why anyone would want to gear a 300EX down.

KILLER250R is right. I ran one of those on mine a few years ago just to check out the difference. It worked great in the woods. Just leave it in third. However it worked terrible everywhere else.

I just want it so I can fly through trails, and be able to lift the front wheels better and even some better hillclimbs. What do you think.

First gear on a 300ex is useless when its stock so i don't see why you would want to go even lower , especially if you have light razrs on back.

When I had my 300 I put a 12 on the front but when I did wheelies it would go through the gears quicker and couldn't hold em for very long. I also tried a 14 up front and with a pipe and jet kit it accelerated like crap.
In other words the stock gearing is fine unless you do a 330 kit or somthing then you could go up to a 14 in the front.

There must have been something wrong with your 300EX if it couldn't pull a 14. I had a 14 on my 250X with just a slipon and a properly jetted carb and it would accelerate great, in a drag it beat 300EX's with stock gearing from the line to WFO. My friend also put a 14 on his totaly stock 300EX and it was fine. With a 330 you could run a 15 up front!
