nick1-you really picked a pot to stir.
As far as a stock ex, I would have to agree with SandmanBlue.
But when you start moding this puppy up,The tide does turn.
Being slightly moded myself I cannot say I can beat a Banshee.I haven't met one recently.
I will say I'm a hell of alot faster now than I was stock. And getting faster all the time with a 1999 desine.
New upgrades coming out all the time now.
nick1 If you get that 400ex and some banshee comes along and gives you a hard time, Just e-mail me and I'll give you all my R+D.

Ok. I am racing in Nicaragua, central america. Since the sport isn't well known yet, we have two categories.- blasters and 300ex, and 250R, banshees and 400exs. I have a MXer 440 EX with everything you can imagine. My other 2 competitors have Banshees with pipes, boost bottle and suspension. (shocks, aarms and axle). In the 10 races there have been this year, I have won 5 second places and 5 third places and i feel very frustrated because its imposible to beat those banshees.
The only way i have beating them is because sometimes they have some problems with their motor. I just bought a 250R and i am still preparing it and i think this will beat the banshees really easy. Before i just to go riding to the beach and the banshee will beat me always.
If you buy a banshee and you buy pipes and reeds you will see a 400 beating you, not even in woods.

jularg-my south of the boarder compadray.
I would wager that in these races you speak of that you don't top out 5 th gear? Am I right??????
Might I sugest you add a tooth or two to the rear sproket. Then use all five gears to get to that checkered flag.Instead of one through four.Correct me if I am wrong.
Bigger carb??
Bigger intake valves/Springs/Seats?
Porting?
Then pass that Banshee in the tight tuns! Or in the air!!!And BREATH!!!!!
