I am going to get a new 400EX saturday as some of you already know, and my dad has a red one and i noticed it faded pretty bad, does yellow fade that quick, i have no idea what color to get, i know this is stupid, but how bad is yellow to show scratches, and fade.

I've got a red 400ex, and the color isn't fading yet. The one thing about the stock Honda plastic is that it shows scratches very fast...even the little ones. I guess my advice would be get which ever one you like the looks of when you see the two sitting side by side. I thought I was going to buy a yellow one until I saw them in person. The red looked really good. Even if the plastic fades, you can buy a new set of stock plastic for like $150 from Planet Honda, or even your local dealer. This is relatively cheap compared to buying aftermarket plastic.

I can't say for sure, but i think i've heard that alot of people buy yellow because the scratches and dirt doesn't show up as bad.

I have a red one and my friend has the yellow one. They both are really nice and both show scratches pretty good. I have not noticed any fading yet. My advice would be to get the yellow just so you have a different one from your dad. Just my advice. Have fun when you get it. Don't beat your old man too bad!!! HaHaHA

The Yellow will hide scratches better than the Red, but it will fade much quicker than the Red one.

I had one on dispaly in the window for only two months before I had to get it down after the other Yellow's were sold. The decals with the yellow background were much darker than the yellow plastic. This was only two months.

Look at some of the Yellow Foreman's that were first released a few years ago. If left out in the sun, they look almost Beige now.

To look at proof of this, find a guy with a Yellow one from last year that had stickers put on it. Lift off the edge of one of those stickers and it will be much darker underneath if his quad was in the sun alot.

I would not suggest putting stickers on a Yellow 400EX. They look pitiful afterwards.

I would have to think to get the yellow. I got a yellow 300ex with scratches but they dont show up nearly as bad as my freinds red foreman. The only thing is try to keep the yellow out of the sun.
