I would go wiht the 2002 CR, because of the updates made to it over the last years. I had a CR250 and loved the power, but was too short, and young to fuly enjoy it. My friend just bought a CR250 and it has the best feel of any bike, but thats personal prefernce. When it comes down to new bikes, to me it's "pick your favorite color and go"

iv riddden a 98 cr250, it wheelied in every gear, and im not sure why anybody would need the crazy power that thing had! The suspention was spot on, no bottoming out. the powerband was everywhere but 1st. have fun keeping the front wheel on the ground when on hard packed dirt.

I speak from experience. My brother has ridden a CR250 all his life. He gets a new one every year and races amateur arenacross when it comes to town and has a couple of his own tracks. The point is, he knows his Honda inside and out. He rode his buddies '01 YZ426 one day and loves it. He is now actually thinking about switching to Yamaha. He claims that the 426 is more plush than the Honda. He also says it is easier to handle and throw around. This is from someone who races and putts around. Years of experience. But, you have to remember that it is a matter of preference. YOU have to get out and ride to see what you like. Everyone is this forum is going to give their preference, not yours. You most likely don't have one, which is the reason for the question. All I can say is to get out and run a few around and see what you like. Best of luck man.

Default Honda or Yamaha

i have been looking out this topic for quite some time trying to decide the right engine to put into my blaster.. and since i was going motor wise yamaha was the clear choice.. because they do have the strongest engine and thats wha ti was looking for so if your looking for power i would say that yamaha yz250
