Info on 350FE and 450ES

Hi there I'm looking to buy my first 4X4 ATV. I have been looking mainly at the Foreman 450ES and the Rancher 350FE. I will use it primarily for recreation and trail riding. What are the pro and cons between the two. What is the diffference between the front differentials? I know the Rancher has more ground clearance, but is the Foreman worth the extra $1000 bucks? The local dealer says the Rancher is alot slower? What are your experiences and feelings between the two. Thanks in advance for the info.

these are my two final candidates also. i have decided on the rancher beacuse of all the good press it is getting. the rancher should hang with the foreman because it has a nicer suspension therfore it will have better trail manners. the rancher is also more sporty than the foreman. in a drag race the foreman would win, on a trail ride the rancher would leave the foreman.....
i'm waiting for final approval from my parents and the dealer to get an orange one (hopefuly the happen simotanitously[sp]).
overall----if you are gonna do alot of working with your quad get the foreman. it has more tourque. if you are gonna do mostly trail riding get the rancher....
just my $.02.

I personally own a 450s I ride with several guys who have 450es. They all seem to really like them. I really like my 450S. I also ride with a buddy who has a Rancher ES. Your local dealer is wrong because his rancher will go by all of us. It seems to be a little faster. The Rancher steers a lot better than my 450 but it doesn't seem to have the power going up hills and in the mud. But the power difference is really not that much different. If I had to buy one today knowing what I know now I would buy the Rancher. It is easier to steer, more ground clearance, faster, and it's $1000 cheaper

Aredneck,
I have a Rancher ES, my brother has the Foreman S, he has a bit, a very little bit of an advantage in the higher gears, but after Saturday I'll say I'd take the height advantage, and it does seen the Rancher is a little quicker in the lower gears. In my opinion, save the thousand for a winch, and other acessories.
