New ride
#1
Just ordered a 2002 300ex for my gf! I am just about as excited as she is!
We had been trying to choose between a Lakota sport and a Blaster, But she rode the Lakota and just wasn't happy with the auto/power.. So she took a spin on a 2001 300ex, and liked it, so I figured peace of mind was worth it. About a grand over what I wanted to spend, but I figured it should last about 10x's longer than a Blaster!
So, is there anything I (we) need to know about the 300's? I'm just looking for more info/ stats on them, just curious.. THANKS GUYS!

You probably already know this..but. Keep the oil changed according to your manual, keep the airfilter properly cleaned AND oiled, and have the valves adjusted according to schedule. Give the chain at least a minor clean and lube after every ride. Keep your maintenance up and it will last a long time. I have a 85 ATC250sx that I've had since new that still runs pretty good for no rebuild and 17 years of use (10 years of heavy use)

I probbly know the more about the 300ex then most people so here it goes. Like the other person said always keep it maintenanced. The best mods for it are a new airfilter, new tires and take the airbox lid off. If she/you want more power put in an exaust, power kit and bore it out to 330.
