Hey HondaGuy300EX,

Yeah man I know how you feel. Listen to this, when the 400ex first came out in 1999, I met a guy that got one. He raved about how awesome it was, and how much better is was than the 300ex. I asked him if I could ride it sometime just to see if everything that he said about it was true. He said yes, but only if I was getting ready to buy one, because he told me that after I ride the 400ex I will HATE the 300ex. I know that is sounds crazy, but man was he right. I never got the chance to ride a 400ex before I got one, but I never rode my 300ex at all after I got my 400ex.

See the 400ex, isn't a "beefed up" 300ex motor. It is totally different. As you probably already know, it is the XR400 motor trapped inside of a 250r frame. The suspension, handling, and power is way better than the 300ex. I know that is hard to imagine because the 300ex does have great suspension/handling and pretty decent power for its size.

Anyway, to help you out with some things to do to your 300ex is yeah, just like what 300exlittleman said put a pipe on it. I understand that you already have a K&N filter on it that helps out a lot also. Really if you want to go faster and keep up with 400ex's supposively the 330 kit from Four Stroke Tech, makes the 300ex able to do that. I don't know for sure or how much it costs, but thats what I heard. I hope that I helped answer you question.

Hey ravenz2069,

Yeah, the 300ex has pretty decent power, but you would be a lot happier with a 400ex. Trust me.

The 400EX could be a baby shower gift. Go with the 400ex i like my 300ex but you get used to it quick and start to want more power.
