There is no such thing as "too much power". You will always want more.

I'll tell ya what. One of my good friends has a '02 stock Raptor, another has a '00 400EX. The EX has FMF powercore IV, K&N filter, and Dyno Jet Kit. The 400EX runs pretty dam good. It's alot of fun to ride. It seems to have more low end torque too.

i remember when i first got my cannibal i thought it was the fastest quad out. now i really want more power, espicially mid range. my advice to you is to get the 400ex, but if you ride a raptor and then hop on the 400ex you will think the 400 is slow.

corn dog...I don't think you have a cannondale. You mentioned that your gas cap leaks and you get high off of fumes. When riding a quad, the air carries off the gas fumes much to fast for you to get "high". The only way your are going to get high is if you are not moving and you have your nose over the gas tank with the cap removed.

P.S. 400ex's are great quads

I just got a great deal on a 10-ride (that's what the owner said and it shows!) used '01 400ex. I didn't really get on it on the test ride but I was very impressed with the "punch" when I hit the throttle. I'm going to ride it for the 1st time this weekend and I'll give an unbiased opinion as to how the power is. I've owned (in this order) a Honda 110, 200x, '85 250r #1, and an '85 250r #2 that I still own. I almost bought a Cannondale (still might someday...) but being a Honda guy I couldn't resist this bike. I am definately looking forward to seeing how this bike pulls. I'll post my opinion Sunday night.

I'll be at Croom tomorrow afternoon and Sunday morning. If anyone online is from Florida I'd like to have someone to ride with. (Even FL Corndog!!!) My buddies ride motorcycles and they're riding an Enduro this weekend. If you're planning on going there this weekend and you don't mind another rider, Pls send me a PM.

this is just like mustangs... my dad and i builds drag race mustangs, and his will run the quarter in about 12.80, i have built a coupe mustang with a 351 h.o. that should run 11.5's to 11.8's, both of these stangs are built completely, nothin left untouched. i love the power, but i also wanted a nice daily driver, so i bought a '96 mustang GT with 3.73 gears, flowmaster, K&N filter, lowered, and a B&M Ripper shifter. now, my 96 is great, but the power of a nearly untouched 4.6 v-8 doesn't even compare to the power of my built 5.4 351, or my dads biult 5.0 302. all my friends think that my new car is a power house, but to someone like me that is used to neck breaking torque, the car is just weak. the same with quads,, the 400ex is a great quad, and powerful if you've only rode it, but if you go from a dale or DS to a 400ex, you will think it feels underpowered.
