I need some new bars for my 400ex. Which are the best for Hare Scrambles racing which is what I do. I have heard that the Pro-Tapers are the best. Also what bend and rise is best.

The bars that I am running on my 250R are Renthal KX 80 bend. They are the bomb. I feel much more in control with the smaller bars. They give my quad an overall smaller feel. I don't know if they will work for your application, but for MX, they are great. I know they fit on a 250R or a banshee with no problem, and I know about 20 people that are using those bars.

I HAVE RIDDEN IN A FEW HAIR SCRAMBLES MYSELF AND I HAVE THE FMF 909 HANDLE BARS ON MY 400EX, AND I LOVE THEM. THEY DON'T SEEM TO BEND VERY EASY, BUT I HAVE GONE THROUGH A COUPLE OF STEERING STEMS.

Altho I'm still using stock bars on my Warrior, I've used Renthals for many years on bikes as a trials rider & they are still a good option. No question that Pro Tapers are excellent also if you can get past the extra cost of their clamps. Some of the people out here are using the new TAG bars and they seem to be on a par with Pro Tapers. I think they use the oem clamps, tho. Not sure about that.As far as rise & bend goes, they are pretty much a personal choice. Some riders who stand a lot like a little higher rise, and as for bend, it somewhat depends your size as the Honda is not an overly large machine & too much pull back could be restrictive in hard riding.
