I'm planning to buy dg's universal silencer for my rm400. what can you guys tell me about it's sound, quality and power. My bike is currently registering 122db, so i'm mainly buying it to keep noise down. Its kinda hard to run from Pissed off farmers when they can hear you 3 miles away.[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]

Well DG is loud......and usualy doesn't gain power, and usualy is very low quality........DG=dont get

 

I hope it is loud, then it will still be quieter than my current exhaust[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-frown.gif[/img]

I borrowed my friends db reader and it said i was puttin out 122-123 db. You have not heard loud until you've heard this thing run. Imagine standing behind a boeing 747 with full throttle. I think you get the picture.

Have you tried repacking it?? Why are running from farmers?? I sure hope you are not one of those a**holes that rides on others land and gives a bad name to all people who ride ATV's and dirt bikes. If you are one of these, don't be offended by me calling you an a**hole because it's what you are if you knowingly ride on someone's land who doesn't want you there.

 

I did repack it twice just to make sure I couldn't get it any quieter. I don't run from farmers. They could care less that I was driving on their land, they just don't like really loud quads/dirtbikes. I've been pulled over 3 times(I don't run, it only gets you in more trouble) and they said that they wouldn't mind me driving around their place as long as my bike was a little quieter. I'm not an a**hole because I don't run. I've only run once but it was because the guy that was driving towards me had shot at another dirtbike rider a year or two before.

Seriously yamahaagye, I dont know anything about the silencer, but if its made by dg, stay away from it.

 

yeah i totally agree, my friend just recently bought one now its rusted to crap. as kill250r and sheeman said dont get it

 

Supertrap makes a universal 2 stroke silencer which isnt bad, I think it runs about $70 and comes with 10 discs, Just check out dennis kirk.

 

I have not owned anything "dg" personally. A good friend of mine has one on his quad and it is rusting, been on the bike about a year or so. As far as performance,MOST of that comes from pipe design, not silencer. I haven't seen a silencer for 2 strokes that has discs. I knoe fmf has a new "quiet" series this year. Shouldn't cost to much.
