I can ride a 300/400EX through all 5, and never touch the clutch. The 250R? 1-4, not touching it, and I haven't practiced much to get a good 6 gear wheelie. It's easy man. Don't play with the clutch, as it will bring your front end down. Power shifting has been around since day 1, and I have never heard of it screwing a tranny.

The place where shifting without using the clutch casues damage is from drag racing and shifting under full throttle without using the clutch. This WILL smoke your tranny unless proper mods have been performed. For light throttle applications, you really don't have to use the clutch. Keep in mind that a lot of the opinions against this come into play because the transmission is designed for clutch use. Would you shift gears in a auto without using the clutch??

I'm not saying power shifting is hard on his quad, I could care less, what IM saying is, You can shift WITH the clutch in a wheelie NO PROBLEM, actually might be a little smoother that way over just banging gears.

When you power shift you don't just bang gears together it's a smoothe shift if you do it right. Just try both ways and use what you like.

Semi's dont use clutches they power shift, it is a lot easier on the tranny to just let it keep rollin instead of slammin the clutch in and making everthing come to a screechin halt at high r's

I can run thru all the gears in a wheelie on my stock 400EX.... never using the clutch

I had a 200X 3-wheeler.... I never used the clutch on it for 15 years.... never had a transmission problem.....
