Trailhog~
The bombardier engine is quite strong but it has to move around close to 800 lbs of machine! If the Quest 650 were about 200 lbs less, it would be nearly as sporty as the Prairie. But being as ugly as it is, I still wouldn't want to be seen on one of those beasts!

From reading those shootouts I guess the Quest 650 rips everyone in long drag races in gravel or sand. I don't think it would be as sporty as the Prairie 650 as I believe that the Quest 650 is full time 4WD.

DUstanko~
Thats also what I'm getting out of the magazines. The Quest has the fastest top speed, but is the slowest in a drag race. If the Quest were 200 lbs lighter and switchable 2/4wd, it would be very similar to the Prairie. It still would be butt-ugly though!!

no i am just agreeing about what you said about the P650, if it has ever raced an R i would thinkg thta that ATC 250r would wax in off the line and in top end with no questions asked. along with the Lt500r if it can beat thoes 2 machines i will be amazed and shut my mouth.

Let me say again....my 660 Grizz has beat a 250R..slight incline gravel road. Yes the R was spinning, but in a real world scenario, you're not going to have perfect grip and traction every time. It's also beat my 400EX..no, you're not talking about the Grizz, but it's quite comparable w/ the Kaw.

Is the Prarie a CVT tranny or a multi speed tranny? If it is a CVT that is an advantage. ANytime you can keep the engine a peak hp compared to going thru the powerband with a multi speed transmission it helps in acceleration. Combined with a great holeshot from 4wd, it sounds like it would be an interesting match up. Driver ability on the 400ex would probably help greatly and I wouldn't doubt that is the detremining factor most of the time.

There is no chance at all that it could even come close to beating a quadzilla. NO WAY. About that griz beating a 250R.....was the R modded? Was the Griz modded? How much did the guy on the R weigh?
That just seems unbelieveable that a top race quad being beaten buy a big utility. He would have to be spinning like 8 seconds to be beat by a Griz. The 400EX being beat by anything doesn't surprise me anymore.
