i know for a fact that you didnt get off your "a$$" and look for a 250r because i can find at least 10 250r's for sale under 5,000 while sitting on my "a$$" in front of my computer and i could find you probably 2-3 pages of 250r's in a magazine called "cycle trader" mabey youve heard of it...if its not to much money ....mabey you could shell out $1.50 and go get one for yourself

I think that is either measured at the crank, or a severe over-estimation by Honda. I think that KILLER250R was pretty close with his estimate to the actual rear H.P. figures in stock form.
I talked to ESR about what they could realistically get out of my motor if I sent it to them, and they said about 40+ usable RWHP (realistically). Thats with a port, polish, and head mods.
Dave Moore from MP Racing also says that the stock RWHP on the 250R was closer to 28-30. (Stock filter, pipe, carb, snorkle, air box lid on, etc.)
So between the two estimates, 28-32 sounds about right.
I don't think I've personally seen a dyno run of a 250R in stock trim.

Honda's claim of 40 HP would make sense if it was at the crank, that would probably match up with the ~30 RWHP max.
I have a friend that has a stock 250R and it's not bad but is nothing compared to his other 250R with the usual mods (I still whoop up on him on my Banshee though )
