Z400 vs. 400ex- THE RACE
#22
Sorry for all the questions Buddah but you happen to own the 2 quads I'm struggling to decide which to buy. Being as unbiased as you can, which do you think handles better? How big of a difference is their really in the handling between the 2? If you had to decide which to buy right now, the Z400 or the 400EX, which would you choose and why? Sorry for all the questions.

My Z is 33" seat height. Buddah has tightened up the preload on his rear and I have not. My C-Dale is at 32". I am running different tires. The Dunlops that come on Raptors and Z's are on my Dale. I used a level and put it at the lowest point I could see. I'm running 4.5 lbs air in all fours....

Handling between the two is pretty similar in my opinion. The Suzuki seems to turn easier and quicker but not by a big margin. It's real close.
If I was in the market for one right now I would definitely choose the Suzuki. For damn near the same price, on the Z you're getting a liquid cooled dohc motor, reverse(not a big deal to me), and slightly longer travel suspension stock. As good as the EX is, it's motor is old school and dated. Although I've seen a lot of fast 400ex's at the dunes and the track I feel it will take less money to wake up the Z's mill and compete with the big boy's. The motor is already fairly quick stock and runs stronger than the EX everywhere but the bottom end. I like Honda's but my Suzuki performs better stock for stock. As soon as I hear a release date on a new sport quad I'll be first in line for that one as well. It doesn't matter what brand it is.

What I really want is a VOR. I wouldn't even care what the big four and Cannondale offer. That would be the ultimate quad for me. I actually might be satisfied for a change. Gobs of travel, awesome motor, just too many trick parts to list. If they put this quad in production like the one on the cover of Dirtwheels, and keep the cost around $13000, I'll purchase one. If anyone out there has any kind of info on this machine please post.

Rodsquad- It is safe for me to wear the black and yellow pants. Deepupenya was banned. lol You left before the raptor got dialed in. The sand pigs left in tears.
Thanks for letting everyone ride the new Z. Can't wait to see the new HONDACRF450. To bad honda will not make it, for the masses.
