No, not all the Chevy's have the locking rear differential. Its like a $175 option, and it comes on a lot of Z71's anyway.

Mine didn't have it. Dammit!!! I was not happy about that, but I wasn't going to wait for the dealer to get in another red 2000 ex. cab. Of course, I didn't have a trailer package on mine either (but made them put one on).

You can get that locking diff on the chevy's though. Its not standard, but I would bet that it comes on half the trucks that you see on the lot. Most of them had it when I got mine, just not the damn red one that I wanted.

I always find it funny that most trucks do not even have a rear limited slip. I have seen many times where punks bregging about their new $30,000+,then it gets stuck with only two wheels spinning one in front and one in rear. I think all of you truck buyers should demand to have all four be abl to pull. I know many of you will say they do, but they dont. Maybe I am wrong but I dont think any new Chevy, Ford, or Dodge even has the option of a front locking Diff.
Just my opinion

Andy-mine has a locking rear differential, and it's red...it is an option though, even on the LT trim.

The leather Tahoe's may have the locking differential, but I have a cloth interior. And it is deffinately a limited slip, thats what the owners manual says anyways. And there arent any buttons or anything of that nature that you would lock it with.

Well to get to the atvs. Why would the switch ont hthe top be for teh torqe convertor because in the statistics it says it is an automatic torqe convertor. If you go to the website and look at the picture of the top veiw, you can see two modes for the switch. That could rule out the choke, so just maybe it is a front locking diff.

Well im a honda guy so im gonna say the recon (or fourtrax for us canadians). I think the rally is suppose to be faster after second or third gear on the recon. THe honda has been around longer and is VERY reliable, but for learners the rally is an automatic and i think it is even liquid cooled, but not sure.

"Why would the switch be for the torque converter?" Because they can put any stall converter in there they want, I'd love to see a high revving SOB. But then for even a slow cruise you have to have the thing sitting at 4500+ rpm, the converter locker would allow for much lower cruise RPM, when one wasn't revving their nuts off testing the drivetrain. It may also allow for a higher top speed while having a high stall converter.

<<fourtrax for us canadians>>

It is really wied how that works insnt it.I got so used to saying recon on this american site I think I`m calling it that all the time.lol!!
Any way the american honda bikes basically start with an "R" like recon, rancher, rubicon, rincon etc. and we have "f"`s for ours like fourtrax trx 250,fourtrax 350,foreman,foreman rubicon and the rincon will probabaly be call foreman rincon or fourtrax rincon etc.

Yeah, when I got my Silverado, they had all kinds on the lot. LT's and LS's alike with and without the locking differential. Sure enough though, they didn't have but one red one, and it was minus the Locking diff, Towing package, and of course, the damn fender flares. I got the towing package installed, but I wasn't paying them $500 for those flares. have to just do without that.

I also got light gray interior, and i wanted tan. Now that I've seen the tan a few times with age, I like the gray better actually. Why doesn't Chevy make red and blue like the old trucks. The red dash on my 90 model shined like a diamond in an elephants *** even after 10 years. The gray is just dull looking. Plus, the carpet will stain and show a lot more than other colors. Stupid to only offer 3 interior colors (and 2 of those are just shades of gray).

now, about the rincon....
