How fast would a 87' 250x be with these mods?

Hey,
always keeping an eye out for a cheap 4wheeler. saw an 87' Honda 250x in the bargain trader for like $1850. said it had a new piston, cam, and cobra pipe. i know i can't be too picky if i'm on a budget, but i was wondering how this would perform with my riding buddies, which have Polaris Scrambler 500's, a 300EX, and a Raptor. opinions?

Hey,
hummm . . . the ad didn't say. for argument sake, let's say it's got a mild cam (nothing too extreme) and a better piston of some sort. what would be it's potential with the right equipment? any chance that with a better airbox/filter and jetted right, that i could hang with the Scrambler 500's?

It depends on what you mean 'hang with'. On trails the 250x can pretty well hang right with those quads. If you're talking about flat out drag racing, forget beating any of your friends quads with the 250X except for maybe the 300EX. You wouldn't be left behind though for about anything other than racing. My sons 250X hangs right with my Scrambler unless were on a straight flat stretch and even then he's not far behind. It's a nice quad.
