Edelbrock Quicksilver on a 400EX??

Does anyone on here have experience with one of these carbs? I was wondering if they work as good as they advertise? I like the thought of not having to rejet my carb anymore. It sounds really nice to be able to adjust the screws (after getting it dialed in).

Do they mount up good, or do you have to monkey around a bit to get it to fit right?

The Edelbrock is one of the best performance mods I ever made! I didn't gain any low end (I lost some low end when I put the K&N on, and I think I need higher compression to get it back), but it pulls way harder in the mid range, and top end is FURIOUS.

Tuning is a piece of cake!! You just take it for a ride, and tune it right out on the trail while you are riding. Don't try to read the plug though!! The plug will be silver with no deposits (so you will THINK you are running lean). Just tune it for best performance. Instalation is simple. You have to modify the throtle though, but it just involves grinding off a tab in the throtle housing.

Cool article. No need to rejet the carb. Sounds like installation is a pain in the ****, but worth it.

Thank you guys very much for the excellent info! I might get this carb just to take care of the damn cold-start problems. Installation doesn't sound too hard, and the results seem to be well worth it.

White mentioned cold starting. I know in the article they mentioned it cured cold starting. Actually, it starts easily when cold, BUT I have to sit and nurse the throtle for a couple of minutes before it will stay running. If I set it to idle when cold, it will race once it is warm. This is a nucience, but I consider it a small price to pay for the added performance.

Actually the Quicksilver develops more power than a K and N + complete exhaust.....over 2hp! No brainer which you need first.

I was just looking at the Edelbrock kit for the Raptor (my neighbor has a Raptor) and noticed Edelbrock has a Doug Eichner signature series carb kit for the TRX400EX. I don't know what's different about this kit when compared the standard Edelbrock carb kit, but I throught I'd post the link where I seen it.
