<< Went with Honda HP for trans oil, and Golden Spec for 2 cycle synthetic oil (ratio: 42-1).
Thanks everyone for your help!

See, I have been running 32-1, but the bottle says to run 42-1. Yes, its a 12oz bottle. I think maybe i'll stick with 32-1, just insurance I guess.

Previous owner said he ran 42-1. The old plug I took out was a little black, not bad though, nor was it wet black. He said he used to drive slow with it, to keep up with his son. I can tell a difference in sound in the ATC, it sounds better, with all the stuff I have done to her. The air cleaner is red and clean, I checked it already. How do I know if she is running to lean???? I can't ride her, bad back, I bought it for the kids to have fun with, and they do!

Amsoil and Golden Spectro are both made to run well at a 50:1 mix. I have used them this way for years without any problems. Adding a 12oz. bottle to 5 gallons of gas is 53:1. I take a 12oz bottle and top it off (that's almost 13oz) and add that to 5 gallons and get a 50:1. I run my engines hard in the dunes and never had a failure due to the mix.
If your plug is black, it is running too rich and that will have almost nothing to do with the fuel/oil mix (unless you're trying to run a 20:1). It means your jetting is too rich. Each engine is different and regardless of what someone uses, yours most likely will not be the same. You need to do "plug chops" to determine your jetting. You will need to do them for low-end as well as high-end.
Also, running to rich will not harm your motor, it just may not run at peak performance, while running too lean can burn a piston quickly and then you're stuck doing a top-end.
Check out the sites briansgi posted. Lots of great info!
Good luck!
