I need help with what gears i should be running. I compete in moto x and i have an all stock 400ex. I was told that i will get better low end to help pull out of the corners if i was to run 14-36 gears. the stock gearing is 18-38. Is this info accurate or was someone pulling my leg. I would appeciate any input on this. I plan on getting a edelbrock carb and a white bros e pipe. will this matter with the gearing also. Thanks for your time

 

First off stock gearing is 15-38. If you are running 20" rear tires I'd go to a 14 on the front. If you're running 18" rears the stock gearing will be fine.
