My 450 S (with Traxlok) will do 50 eventually, but it definately doesn't like going that fast. The engine sounds a lot better at 44-45 mph. My Rubicon accelerates much faster and tops out at 55. And it will cruise nicely at 50 without sounding like it's tearing itself apart. The 450 is a great machine and a great deal, but nothing will make it into a Rubicon.

The 450s is a dinosour of a design even compared to a rancher, just get a rubi if the rancher's not going to cut it.
On the original question, yes the rubi's sealed quite well. The only way to get water in would be from the PVC vent if I'm not mitaken, but I think it has a check valve too.

from my experiense the 450 pulls a lot harder than the rancher. my dads 300 with a hotter cam pulls the same as a rancher. the 450 is more stable because it's wider, and it'll pull bigger tires. overall the 450 is better

The 450 S a dinosaur of a design? I prefer to think of it as a "mature" design. It's tough as an anvil, has more power than a Rancher, and rides better. It shows its age in the wider turing radius, and the low top speed. It really could use a 6th gear. Other than that, for the money, it's one of the best out there.
