Clutch adjustment on a 2002 300EX
#1
My clutch on my 300EX does not start to pull until the handle is almost all the way released. I don't ever remember it being like this. I've driven my friends 400EX and it starts to grab about half way between fully held and full release. I've adjusted according to the manual but it's not much better. What else can i do to fix this?
Thank you for an help.

The only clutch adjustment on the 300EX is the adjustments to the cable.
The adjustment on the handlebars is not the only adjustment. There is also an adjuster on the cable at the bracket which sits directly behing the cylinder of the engine.
Loosen the cable all the way up on the handlebars and then take the slack out at the adjuster on the mount bracket on the engine. This way, you have alot more adjustment up on the handlebars to suit it to your liking and for future adjustments.
If this doesn't make a difference, the problem is with the clutch itself.
