Plastic floorboards and a rubber band don't make up that much weight.

Fellows this is just my point as I was not attacking Polaris In the Polaris bragging post. I am not attacking Polaris gosh I have read all kinds of good stuff the way they are on the trail and I believe it so why shouldn't I believe the bad stuff I hear about them also. I want to see Polaris make a more excellent quality atv not because I am a want a be I am quite happy with my Cat.
I just wish they would stop cutting corners put more money into the bike less profit in their pockets. Polaris is there own worse enemy, with the problems they are having, have you heard the saying suck one egg and your an egg sucker??? Well this is what Polaris is suffering from sure they are some Polaris owners out there who are having no trouble with their atv's but then again some are. Could you imagine if would of the other leading manufactures had this kind of trouble out of BRAND NEW ATV'S it would get the same thing Polaris is suffering from.

Artic Cat 500...Lovin every minute of it

The last sentence was pretty much on target. Nobody has more trouble out of brand new atv's than Polaris. Even if its one out of 20, thats not good. We aren't talking about little things, we are talking about things that you are happy to see still under warranty.

I agree with Sandmanblue on one point. The japs have been building cycles longer and know how to shave weight. Where Polaris has been making sleds. The PVT tranny is an obvious coincedence Maybe some of the reason for the big cushy seat and usually having the most powerful motors in each ATV class. Don't get me wrong a CBR bike has a great motor, but it's no 800cc 2 stroke!
If you are too much of a girl to throw the weight around don't buy a Polaris. It's just that simple. To each their own.

Probably heavy b/c:
1.independent rear suspension
2.water-cooled (radiator versus honda airbox)

These arent facts just guessing

My friend has had two Polaris's in only a few
years and I swear those things have been in
the shop more than 20 times. First was a complete lemon.
