2002 250 ex smoking?

just wondering what you all think my 250 starts to smoke after it warms up, it has only about 20 hrs on it, I changed oil cleaned spark arrestor, checked filter, checked plug, looks like its running a little rich, smoke has a blue tint so i thought oil but Im not using any up Warrenty is up wich sucks seeing i bought in december did not ride till may hoping not rings any thoughts?

1. Could be running rich.

2. May have a stuck ring if so replace rings.

3. Too much oil in it, that will really make em smoke.

My nephew has a 2000 250 Recon , basicly same machine , it smokes a bit when decelerating or on up and down choppy trails . The mechanic at the dealer ( who is very good ) said something about the oil will "splash" up to the cylinder walls on those engines , more than normal , under those conditions , causing the rings to carry some excess oil to the combustion chamber causing the puffing of blue smoke once in a while . If the smoke is constant I would say something is wrong , if it is like I described above it is a possibility that is what's happening , nephew rides his every day and hasn't had a problem yet . Black smoke means running rich, blue smoke means burning oil and ( not applying to your machine ) white smoke means coolant getting into the combustion chamber.
