Greetings,
My son has a bad habit of stomping on his shifter in order to assure that it is in neutral before staring a jump run or some other antic. Now we can't get it to drop into neutral at all. It shifts fine 1-4 but won't go down into neutral. Could he have bent the forks in the shifter? How do I tell? Is there anything I could try before splitting the cases apart. Any help would be greatly appreciated. It is also still under warranty, should I try to get the dealer to fix it, even though I suspect it is operator error that caused the problem?

Definately take it back if under warrenty, just leave out the "stomped on the shifter" part. And yes, sounds like you bent the fork just enough to prevent finding neutral.
