For my '99 400EX, I paid MSRP plus tax and license, $5911.47. I could have negotiated but I wasn't really in a position to talk him down. I was underage at the time and did everthing over the phone. I think I got one of the last ones in the state, too! I called every dealer that was remotely close before I found one at a dealer 30 mintues away! I guess if I wanted to save a lot of money I would have bought a used quad, but I'm just lucky I got one!

I bought a 300EX and my friend bought a 400EX on the same day. We have a scale in our shop.
With gas tanks full, and ready too ride. With not one hour on the engines. That's what we measured.
I got the rear wheel HP from the dealer we bought the machines from. They have a dyno.
Both the 300 and 400 are now modified. And it is very interested.

cstark, in your first post you stated the "supposed" dry weight. Later on you said you weighed them with gas ready to ride. Which was it? I hope you also ride with oil in the engine.
did it occur to you that the 400 may hold more gas?
I suggest you rethink your evaluation.

I never said supposed. I stated the facts that I know. And by the way, why are you trying to start a fight. Grow up!!!
