I talked to the 17 year old that helps with the maintenance of it today. A 24 year old woman owns it. She bought it to ride a couple of times with her boyfriend, but now wants to sell it.
So, this 17year old likes to ride it and changed the filter once but has been using automotive oil.
I told him about the filter possibly being in backwards and to hurry and get that crappy oil out of it. I told him get honda motorcycle oil, or mobil v-wtin motorcycle oil. He thinks he know how to tell if it is in backwards or not, and he is going to put a new one in.

Yup, its true. I'm not one for spreading B.S., or wasting everybody's time on the forum.
I hardly ever see the foreman. I only see it when I ride with the 35 year old policeman that borrows it from his sister in law (24 year old woman) who lets his brother in law (17 year old automotive oil chnager) do maintenance on it.
I don't have a any other experience with a foreman, other than another friend has two or three of them and they don't give him trouble.
I have worked on air cooled stuff before, and I was just a bit stumped as to why the foreman overheats.
The problem is that the foreman lives so far away from me, I can't really help them out with it, so I thought I would ask the Foreman experts here what they thought.

no problem, i though mabey you were trying to stir somthing up. 400 foremans are one of the most reliable quads out there, so it can't be something that bad, but if he keeps driving it while it's overheating it won't last long!!!!!! the cylinder will wear and the rings won't do their job. (ie the compression rings will go and it won't have any compression, and then the oils rings, and it'll start to smoke.) or worst case it'll seize tighter than fort knox!!!!!!!!!!!!
