A Quote from Dirt Wheels---The Traxter, even with one wheel off the ground, was able to get torque to the wheel MOST needing traction.Unquote-----I beleive that would not qualify as ''TRUE 4X4''====BILL

That's what I mean, it's hard to tell if it has true four wheel drive or not cause there seems to be stories that it does and stories that it doesn't. I read that when turning, the Traxter allows the inside wheel to turn slower than the outside, for easier turning. Then when the going gets tough, a hydraulically actuated device locks the front differential so all four will spin. Bill, I believe you, but what shootout did you read that in?

The Grizzly and the new 00' Kodiaks are supposed to be "true" 4x4s.

Once again this debate bases itself entirely on what you consider "true 4wd" to be. If you consider it all four wheels all the time in a locked differential, then there are only two. The responses are always going to be fuzzy here, because different people consider the question in different ways.

Everyone claims to be a true 4 wheel drive, if you do your home work, you will find the Traxter shows how it should be done. Read some of the reports here in the atving.com world.
