400EX 250X or 250R?

I'm a bite confused.

What is the best for me? Trails, Open dirt roads, hill climbing, and some mud(nothing major).

I was not impressed with the 300EX, and i rode a 250X, i though it was 10 times better than the 300.

I've rode a 400EX, loved it! but...where's the reverse!

250R..never rode one, just heard lots of good things about them!

I never said all honda's were lemons and many honda owners say about polaris

I posted that because i get sick of everyone bashing polaris when they don't have any real problems. Yes there are a few. I even found out why my TB wouldn't keep the chain on. 3 teeth on the back sproket were tore up!

Everyone makes it out that honda has no problems! I had a honda TRX250 for awhile. Damn thing was bullet proof. 87 and it still ran like it was new! sure didn't look that way

 

I have a 1991 250X and I love it. It handles great and doesn't have to bad of speed. I've also thought about selling it though and buying a 400EX but I still have decided, Good luck in your decision!

 

First let me say if you get sick of people bashing polaris than go to the polaris forum and leave the red one alone.Second you say that the 250X is ten times the bike that a 300EX is when there the same damn thing.Don't give me this crap about the 250X being faster than a 300 either because I have both.If you really like to kick start then you better buy an X .If you like the electric start & reverse buy a 300Ex.If your going from a trail blazer than don't buy a 250r or your going to the hospital.. Sorry but the truth

 

my friends 250x is faster than my 300ex and my friends mojave and my other freinds 300ex.
my 300ex is slower but has 10x more power.
I climb hills in forth because 3rd dont have the speed after i got it ported and higher compresion piston.
His 250x runs like a champ when the bearings and axles are not wearing out like all hondas do

 

well your friends 25oX has something more than your 300 has.Is your friend lighter than you? some gear changing might have taken place somewhere down the rode but as I said before,I have both and have had countless others and though some exceptions come along one way or the other they are basicly heads up if all stock...

 

when he bought it the guy said it had a jet kit and a cobra pipe and thats all
I can swear that there is something else done to it that the guy didnt say because that ****er flys. When i help him put his axle back together ill look at how many teeth the sprocket has. I am just abvout to put a 14 tooth from one on mine because after i rebuilt it i lost tones of speed !!

 

how can you say you like a 250X but not a 300ex? they are same! I don't get it.
